All Saints is a church in the centre of Nelson, made up of people from all ages, backgrounds and church experiences. We have been planted here in the middle of the city since 1862 and are working out from that time to the present day what it means to follow Jesus Christ together ‘for the good of the city’.
We long to see our little city flourish in spirit, body and mind, encountering the good news and goodness of God. We believe that knowing and following Jesus can make a difference – not just to us, but to the communities that we live in. We’re imperfect and get things wrong, but follow a perfect saviour who is generous, gracious and good to us in so many ways.
our vision
We’re working out what it means to follow Jesus Christ together ‘for the good of the city’ (Jeremiah 29:7).
the journey
We’re on the journey of learning as author John Mark Comer puts it, ‘to be with Jesus, be like Jesus and do the things that he did’.
We try to do that not just on a Sunday at a service, but also in the other ways we meet during the week, the ministries we serve in, and the ways that we shape our lives after him.
If you’d like to know more, get in touch or sign up for our weekly Pānui newsletter. We’d love to meet you sometime!
our history
All Saints has a rich history dating back to 1862, when All Saints was planted to serve workers in the growing city of Nelson.
faithfulness and mission
Over the years, people’s prayer, worship and faithfulness have filled the buildings. Ministries such as Loaves and Fishes and the men’s night shelter have blessed the city.
Overseas mission has become part of our DNA over the years – the mission agency NZCMS was established in the All Saints hall many years ago.
Those of us here now stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us! We value our story and the ways that God has been faithful to us over the years, but also want to play our part in what God is doing in the here and now.
